They do not require the wielder to spend their own Breath to activate; the metal itself is the catalyst. The primary cost is moral and spiritual, as using such a blade permanently destroys the victim's ability to be reborn or return via Heralds' methods. In terms of limitations, they are incredibly rare, and forging new ones is likely impossible for current civilizations without divine intervention. They are also heavy and difficult to handle due to their density. Practically, these weapons serve as ultimate counters to BioChromatic warriors. A single touch can kill a soldier with hundreds of Breaths just as easily as an ordinary human.
